Today we are featuring our Ricotta and Butternut Squash Macaroni Cheese served with Garlic Ciabatta. This works great for either lunch or dinner; the macaroni cheese is quite light and creamy, but with the garlic ciabatta this dish becomes rather filling. It’s one of our vegetarian dishes (although carnivores will also enjoy it, as it’s so tasty!). The garlic bread is crispy on the outside and deliciously warm and buttery.
You can find a full menu of our dishes and drinks by clicking here. If there is anything not on the menu, or anything you are unsure of, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
Glastonbury festival gates open this evening and it looks like the week is going to be a scorcher. With many of you travelling through the area we imagine you’ll be looking for ways to keep cool, hydrated and well fed! We welcome festival goers to our restaurant where we offer a nice selection of beers, as well as many non-alcoholic cold and hot drinks! Our menu is packed with variety, and all ingredients are locally sourced because we believe in supporting fellow local businesses.
We hope you will drop by on your way either to or from the festival! Find us just off the A303, Gillingham/Mere exit.
Regardless of the rainy, blustery weather we have been having lately, people have been popping in to see us and try our restaurant. We’ve found a couple of reviews about Visit Hillbrush and wanted to share what others have been saying about our visitor centre.
First, The Dorset Foodie Family posted about a recent visit, encouraging people to give us a try if they haven’t already. They also included some excellent photos of their coffee and cake!
We were also reviewed by Taste of the West, whose aim is to promote fantastic local food and drink in Devon, Cornwall, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire. You can read their review here.
If you see any write ups or reviews, or if you have written one yourself and would like us to share it on our social media, please get in touch. And if you are in the area, pop in and say hello. We would love to meet you!
We have just passed our 5000th customer at Visit Hillbrush! We just wanted to thank everyone who has come down to see us and lend their support by buying products from our shop, dining in our restaurant, and spending time browsing our museum. We hope you’ll come and see us again soon!
Although the weather wasn’t quite as nice as we were expecting over the bank holiday weekend, we hope you enjoyed your visit if you popped in to see us! The restaurant was quite busy, with many people coming to have lunch and refreshments despite the rain.
If you haven’t experienced Visit Hillbrush yet but you’re wondering what we have on offer, you can view our menu by clicking here. We have a wide selection of delicious foods and drinks, all using locally sourced ingredients, all top quality. There are vegetarian and gluten free options available, but if there is anything else you are unsure of, please do ask a member of staff as we are more than happy to adjust our dishes to cater to people with allergies or intolerances.
We would also like to extend a massive thank you to everyone who has taken the time to leave us reviews on Trip Advisor, Facebook and Google My Business so far. Your feedback is extremely important to us as it helps us to improve our service. Plus it’s always lovely to hear from people!
We recently spotted this beauty in our car park at Visit Hillbrush in Mere and we just had to share it (with the permission of the owners, of course). Our visitor centre is the ideal place for a classic car meet up, where owners can gather, admire and discuss their vintage vehicles! We have a spacious car park so there is plenty of room for everyone. Not to mention we are in a picturesque location in Mere. Our restaurant is open so it would be the perfect opportunity to grab a bite to eat and a drink while you’re here. Our gorgeous south-facing terrace is designed for those long, sunny days!
Voting closes soon for the Muddy Stilettos Awards 2017 and we would really appreciate your votes for our visitor centre, Visit Hillbrush, which is in the Best Cafe in Wiltshire category. We are so happy to be nominated in the first place, and as a brand new venture this would be a fantastic boost for us. From the Muddy Stilettos website:
Muddy Stilettos is the biggest and most influential lifestyle blog in Wiltshire, with over 100,000 discerning, intelligent, fun-loving AB women nationally every month (30-55 years) reading our advice on where to go and what to do with their precious free time.
Thank you to those of you who have already voted! Please spread the word.
We are thrilled that Visit Hillbrush has been nominated in the Muddy Stilettos Awards 2017 for Best Cafe in Wiltshire! We are so happy and proud that people are enjoying our new facility in Mere.
If you have visited us and tried the delicious food in our restaurant, sampled our artisan coffee, explored our brush-making museum, and browsed the many gifts available in our shop, please click this link to vote for us. We would really appreciate it!
If you’re out walking or cycling this weekend with friends, family, or even just your dog(s), why not drop into our visitor centre where you can rest and enjoy a relaxing cuppa and cake, or go all out and order yourself some lunch from our amazing menu?
It would also be a great opportunity to check out our brush making museum, which features interactive and tactile displays and tons of information about brushes. Our museum is still expanding and we are adding more components, so it’s definitely somewhere you could easily come back to and learn more.
Perhaps you could buy a nice product from our quality gift shop, too, and give it to that special someone. :)
Everyone is welcome! We would love to see you.
